MeteoCaldas

MeteoCaldas is an amateur weather station, registered in WeatherUnderground (Wunderground) with the name ILEIRIAC9 .
We are operating since August 1st, 2015 and all the meteorological records since that date, can be found on the site.
The publication of current and past weather data and forecasts online, aim to provide the population in general, and the touristic and agricultural activities in particular, with a free public service with meteorological information.
Note: Due to the MeteoCaldas amateur status, never take critical or important decisions based on data and forecasts of the station.

About the Weather Station

The meteorological data (temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation and atmospheric pressure) are obtained by an Oregon Scientific WMR-88 weather station.
The data is measured every 15 seconds and the site is updated every 5 minutes.
Data is collected using the Cumulus software.
The station has a temperature/moisture sensor, an anemometer, a barometer and a rain sensor, which are installed in accordance with standards, in order to ensure the accuracy of the data.
The station has no solar radiation and ultra-violet sensors, so those values ??are provided by third parties.

The weather station is located in Caldas da Rainha.
Caldas da Rainha is a town with about 30,343 inhabitants (2012) in its urban perimeter, so it is the second largest city in the district of Leiria, belonging to the West Central sub-region and part of the West Tourism Region.
It is the seat of a municipality with 255.7 km² and 51,729 inhabitants (2011), divided into 12 parishes. The population density is 200 inhabitants/km².
Caldas da Rainha has a mild maritime climate. Climate classification is "Csb" according to Köppen and Geiger. The average annual temperature is 15.5°C. The hottest month is August (average: 24°C max and 16ºCmin). The coldest month is January (average: 14ºC max and 8°C min). The average annual rainfall is 696 mm and the month of November is the wettest with 113 mm.
